Gabapentin side effects after months of use

I’ve been on Gabapentin for about 6 months now. I am currently on 1400mg. I had some initial side effects when I first started but they went away. Last night after my dose of the night, I got incredibly dizzy for a few seconds. I thought I was in an earthquake. Then my head felt slightly dizzy the rest of the night. I felt dizzy the majority of the day but it wasn’t too bad. I am now experiencing nausea after my first dose of the day. Can side effects come on even after your body is used to Gabapentin? Thanks

That is very strange. I've never heard of that happening.

I think I told you this before but You might want to try switching to pregabalin. Although it is basically the same drug except you don't need to divide the doses, and the side effects are basically the same, some people find that the side effects that bother them on one don't bother them on the other. Divide the gabapentin amount by 6 to get the correct dose.

Yeah I am not 100% certain it’s the Gabapentin causing this but it’s the only thing I can think of as I don’t take any other meds and I am in good health. Hopefully it’s nothing and goes way on its own but I’ll let my doctor know regardless. Even when I first started on Gabapentin I never felt like this.
