Night complex

Hi

In an effort to improve my severe insomnia and rls I bought from Holland and Barrett capsules of night complex . Is it ok to take these at night?

I take 150 mg of Pregabalin and 60 mg codeine at night but sleep is hard to come by.

I don’t want to bother a doctor with questions that’s if I could ever get an appointment.

Other medication I take daily are a beta blocker and Apixiban for atrial fibrillation .

I did ask a pharmacist some time ago but he said see your doctor

I would appreciate any help

Thank you

I went out to the Holland and Barrett website and couldn't find Night Complex. Are you sure that is the name? Could you provide the web address showing the page it is on. What beta blocker are you taking? If the pregabalin is not controlling your symptoms, you may not be taking enough of it. Try increasing it every couple of days by 25mg. 450 mg is the usual maximum dose.

Hi It is definitely calledNight Complex but maybe I got it wrong and didn’t get them from Holland and Barrett I can’t remember I do have the bottle in front of me and it’s website is tdnnutrition.com

I have been taking the beta blocker Bisoprolol for 15 years now

I take two 75 mg pregabalin at night I can’t take a bigger dosage because of heart palpitations and can’t increase the 60 mg codeine either because of the same problem

The night complex capsules contains magnesium and a host of other vitamins etc these are listed on the side of the container but there is a note saying take as directed by your GP

Magnesium can interfere with the absorption of pregabalin and should be taken at least 3 hours before taking the pregabalin.

I have only ever seen reference to magnesium interfering with absorption of gabapentin, not pregabalin.

Since pregabalin is basically the same thing as gabapentin I would think the same thing would apply, but you may be right. Still it can't hurt to separate them.

I don't know about the Night Complex. I used to take codeine and it caused insomnia as can all opioids.

Hoochybaby, you are not bothering your doctor with questions about insomnia. Insomnia can/will lead to severe health problem, thus your doctor is the place to go. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And do not play down the insomnia, not to you doctor, anyone else and certainly not to yourself.

That's not a bad formula - worth a try - nice that it doesn't have Melatonin but rather the Montmorency Cherry (which supports melatonin production). Take it away from other meds as suggested the Mg may interfere. Here is the product info...

The only caveat I have is that the L-tryptophan it contains is changed into serotonin which can exacerbate RLS symptoms in some.

I feel for you as I seem to have the same problem. Every day is a challenge with only a few hours of sleep. I am taking Gabapentin and 1 mg Lorazepam (actually taking another one since I wake up at night). It seems to make no difference. The body is used to it I think. Like you I am always looking for something that could help. I am also doing some energy work, but so far have not had much luck. I think I need a miracle! Good luck.

I found Night Complex on the internet. It is only available in the U.K. I just wrote to them asking whether they ship to the U.S.
