Yes, stretching and movement are good to counter the restless sensations and actually good for general fitness and avoidance of injury as well. Win win.

Hi, Drhook_ good path, the streching, either yoga or not. It is included even in official sites of experts, etc;

_ in my case, I don't even get up, just do it laying in bed when I need, focused on the calves. I use strechting combined with EFT (acupunture without needles, in certain way, especially the rolling-eye 9 Gamut exercise), with great sucess since 1.5 years ago.

_ Especifically on strechtings, I have found elswhere in the Forum:

_YOGA:

“I have been trying it, holding stretches that release the SI joints, lower back etc...and it seems to be making a BIG difference. So I thought more people might want to try it” (Maddiehb)….

“Hi Maddie Yes I have also been trying to do yin yoga stretches and they are making a big difference to me also “(Bluebboat).

“A german therapist called liebscher und bracht, they have videos on youtube, said it has nothing to do with dopamine (which always sounded strange to me, i couldnt believe i had low dopamine levels) but with too tight fascia and too tight surrounding tissue. This sounded very logical to me. So i started a 1 hour a day exercise program with yinyoga to stretch al the tissue in my legs, different yogapostures for 2 minutes for every posture. And a fasciaroller. Combined with walking 1,5 hours a day too. it took me 3 months but i could feel it getting better. After 3 months the rls was almost gone..... Anyway, rls is curable, but you need to put in the work.”(silvia10)…….

_ STRETCHING:

Its three months now since i came off Pramipexole - I have mild symptoms . I did up my Vit D and Magnesium to maxim dosage one month ago. I sleep at night and have done so for one month at stretches of 2 and 3 hours, getting most nights 7 or 8 hours sleep. I have no daytime symptoms at all not since a month ago. My plan is to keep on keeping on, coz this is working”(Ballyboffey26)

all the best and good luck

I'm off pramipexole almost a year now!! I take no meds (since a year) and have moved from chronic RLS to mild- moderate. I sleep at night in blocks of 3 and 4 hours. I might have thd odd bad night. But v odd. I notice that whdn i took antibiotics for a while it messed up my rythym and took me a whike to get back on track. Incredible. I nearly went mental a year ago with all the symptoms I had which included electric like shocks going thru my body. I still don't know what causes my RLS and I am well read on the topic. However i just keep doing what I've been doing this past year....exercising, good diet( green veg, fruit, nuts, seeds etc) keeping my values up ( and it's always a personal thing , for me it includes taking large dose magnesium and vit d daily, and iron and vit c every second day....AND focusing on my health not my disorder. Thanks to this forum for providing the motivation to take the action. Hugs to all suffering from this disorder. xo
