Transcutaneous electrical stimulation unit

Has anybody had a chance to use a TENS unit? Transcutaneous electrical stimulation does something to the muscles which is supposed to help with pain of all kinds. I've got one on right now and it definitely does something to the restless, horrible, creepy feeling but I'm not sure if I'll be able to sleep.

So I thought I would write this post while I'm laying here in bed.

My wife is using it for a pain that she has and it helps her. So I thought I would give it a shot. I will write again if I see any substantial relief.

I've had treatment with a tens device. It stimulates the muscles electrically to make them twitch. They work to clear out the damage caused by overloading muscles. For rls, they may mask the sensations which cause the restlessness somewhat, but at the high intensity required, the electrical stimulation will probably be as uncomfortable as the sensations you're trying to mask.

Yes, I discovered last night that while it can mask the symptoms for a while, the symptoms will eventually erupt right through the electrical stimulation and make my whole body flop around on the bed.

Not useful at all.

I tried it but it made my RLS worse.

Hi, l have a TENS machine, it helps with back pain but really doesn't do much good for rls. I am now still using my Neupro patches and l am getting relief during the day. At night l still take ropinorole 2mg. I walk for about 30minutes before going to bed and for 3 nights now I've slept (apart from loo breaks) really well, up to 7 hours which is a great break through for me. No side effects so far.

I'm glad to hear I'm glad to hear that. Plus, you have the added benefit of some pleasant exercise. I've always loved walking at night.
