Hi pd63. I had five sessions of sbrt for low risk favorable 2 months ago. I had a very good experience. Painless, 20 minute sessions done every other day. After the last session I had minor rectal urgency and some more frequent trips to the toilet to urinate. Both minor side effects only lasted for about ten days. Now I feel great and “normal”, whatever that means. Also, now sleeping through the night without getting up to pee. Have no issues with getting an erection. I started low dose daily Cialis about 2 months before treatment and presently still taking it. Will have my first psa test 3 months post treatment. I’m happy with my decision and I wish you all the best with much health and joy for years to come.

I just finished 5 SBRT treatments at the end of February at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. The treatments were easy - just like having an MRI. The staff was wonderful and the entire experience was as pleasant as possible given the circumstances.

I had very minor side effects which are diminishing daily. Time will tell how effective the treatment was, but I am very optimistic. I suspect you will be glad you elected SBRT instead of surgery. I wish you well!
