The Science is Coming

Good to see the mini AZD5069 trial with enzalutamide offering another route to taming the beast. I am no scientist but as I understand it the target is myeloid white blood cells which can act to fuel tumours. The drup blocks the CXCR2 receptor and, in a small sample seems to have resulted in tumour shrinkage or slower/blocked growth in c 24% of those tested. The small trial was with men whose treatment options ran out. De Bono and Prostate Cancer UK were involved. Will probably take a long time to become mainstream. We really need to find a way of fast tracking promising new treatments safely. I have not been able to share a link but it has been widely reported in UK press. Still early days.

Best wishes to all
