A good day today

Wanted to share some good news, having asked for help and advice so much over the last 5 years.

Dad had initial PSA of 17 and it was believed localised (2c) and received surgery in June 2018. Failed with a low score of 0.08, upgrade to 3a and subsequently received radiation in January 2019. 37 sessions at 65gy and hormones for between December- May 2019. Undetectable until June 2020 with a series of readings of:

Jan 2020: 0.06

June 2021 0.07

Dec 2021: 0.09

May 2022: 0.08

November 2022: 0.12(!)

March 2023: 0.11

August 2023: 0.09

He will now have another test in March 2024, which will be his 5 years. Whilst he still has a reading of PSA, aside from one test, there has been minimal activity across 4.5 years which is incredibly reassuring without any hormones etc. He will move to annuals at the 5 year mark if all remains under 0.1 or 6 monthly for caution, if preferred.

I'm sure there will be further bumps but wanted to share and also to alleviate some concerns of others with minor changes to PSA and show that it really cam go up and down without major issue.

He has had excellent treatment in the UK and a good quality of life. There is hope for people who are still at the start of this journey.
