Did Epstein confirm?

Since you are only 2 hours from Wheeling WV, you might want to talk to Gregory Merrick at Wheeling Hospital about brachy boost therapy - he is one of the world's experts. You can probably arrange to get the external beam part of the therapy (20-25 treatments) done locally.

You might qualify for the PSMA PET scan at UNC:

Thanks Tall_Allen, Hopefully my biopsy is in the mail today. There were some differences of opinion, lab / Urologist, on who needed to OK the second opinion.

Just to follow up, my second review of my biopsy from John Hopkins was similar to original, per my urologist. I haven’t actually seen the report.

Received my biopsy from John Hopkins. They rated the previous G8 as a 7. The rest are pretty much the same, 4-7’s and a 6,except they didn’t rate one slide(G7 on first review). Their comments: “slide C- High-grade PIN with adjacent small atypical glands where it is difficult to determine whether these adjacent small atypical glands represent outpouchings(sp?)from adjacent high-grade PIN or represent associated focal infiltrating adenocarcinoma. Findings are highly suspicious for carcinoma.” Whew!

I have an appointment with a local oncologist and working on one with a local urologist that supposedly very good at RP. I should also be hearing shortly from Dr. Greg Merrick at Wheeling Hospital to set up an appointment per Tall Allen’s suggestion.

Thanks all!

I had 3 different doctors , Johns Hopkins , Harvard, and Saint Francis --(local) in Memphis ,

all came back with 3 different diagnosis on biopsy ... Its common unless its advance cancer

they all agreed it was low grade so I am on AS since Dec. 2018 . Have PSA every 3 months so far ...

Ok, it’s been awhile. The wife and I had consultations with a local oncologist and an experienced surgeon. Oncologist was suggesting one bout of ADT and 5 weeks of radiation. The surgeon has performed thousands of RP operations, all schooling at John Hopkins, and actually did a friend of mine last summer. I ended up going with Tall Allen’s recommendation after seeing Gregory Merrick at Wheeling Hospital in WV.

I’m going this Monday to get a Space Oar inserted. I know some don’t think this is necessary but I’m not questioning. I’ll get 3 weeks of radiation starting March 2 and April 2 I’m receiving brachytherapy.

It’s a 2 hour drive for me from Columbus, OH, but luckily I’m retired and it’s a very easy drive.
