I am three weeks out from having my prostatectomy. I am having some periodic blood clots and or bloody urine. Is that normal?

Absolutely normal and to be expected. Should clear up in the next couple of weeks. I am sure you have a follow up appt with your Uro scheduled and you should check with him/her.

Happened to me the day before the catheter removal, I panicked. Once out it stopped. But make sure and check/call your Uro!

I never had blood clots ever. I never had blood in urine either.. I would go to get checked from your doctor.

As others have said it is normal. Don't forget to exercise your erections.

Keep your eye on this. As long as the blood clots pass you're okay. Mine jammed up in my bladder and I had a very painful trip to the emergency room to have the blood clots cleared out.

Thanks for all the feedback. This first happened a few hours after my first masturbatory attempt (fairly successful). I am guessing the trauma I may have caused is why I am experiencing this. One episode of pretty red urine and one the next day which was less red. I have had several smallish clots in my urine since then over the last 4 days. I did call the surgeons office and spoke with his assistant who said this was pretty common and could occur for up to 3 months post surgery. Still a little concerning but just monitoring at this point.
