I'm a prostrate cance survivor. I'm lucky and I know it because I have many friends who are still fighting.

On Nov. 1, 2016, I'll be cancer free for 10 years. My Doc says at that time ,I'm out of the woods. I'm blessed.

I can answer lots of questions.

I read about what others are going through with this terrible affliction. I feel so blessed. I'm ready to share anything I can to make their journey easier.

So happy that you are so many years out and that you are willing to share with us.  There are few teachers better than experience.

However, even though you are ten years out you still need to be sure that you still have a PSA test and a DRE.  Better to be safe than sorry, take it from someone you stopped being vigilant and had their PSA run up to 88 post-surgery.

Yes, I'm blessed again because my Urologist is my son in law who I see often.

When I was first diagnosed, I talked to everyone I know including a friend who is a Radiogy Oncologist. I narrowed it down to a radical, either by Robotic or open. My son in law said if I wanted him to do it, I would be his 1008 case. He said he wanted to do open. He said , when I get in , I can not only see but also feel. He thought that was a great advantage.

Guess he was right.

PSA once per year.
