first baby tooth molar!??

hi everyone,

my little one is 4 months and waking up 3 times a night. I know he’s not hungry everytime so starting to feel around his mouth and the only possible tooth I can feel is a back molar? Can this happen as a first tooth?? Thanks for your help

Yes, my LG started teething when she was about 9 weeks old and then she got 3 or 4 molars through first not too long after. I googled as this seemed so early and wasn't the right pattern but didn't find much. Then I asked our dentist and he said they can come through whenever and in any order - he actually made me feel much better as he said they are (or were when he was training) given a test to set out the right order that babies get their teeth and in all his years he's never known one child that got them in the right order at the right time. It's not much fun them teething so early on and the molars are the worst plus not much you can give for pain relief etc, but in hindsight it got a lot of the pain and upset out of the way very early (a load of them followed those first molars in quixk succession). She's nearly two now and has pretty much the same number as other toddlers her age, it just all happened at different times and in different orders.

It could also be the 4 month sleep regression. Just a normal part of sleep pattern development. We had wake ups every 45min around that age for a few good weeks. It was hard, but got better! 😇🥰
