In the last couple of weeks I have started with upper back pain. I had my first physio appointment yesterday and bought an exercise ball and started to do the exercises suggested by the physio. I have also been having paracetamol and voltrol however they don’t even touch the pain. The pain only eases off if I go for a walk or when I am asleep. Is anything else I can take?? x

Back pain
How far along are you?
Couple of things that can make it worse, so maybe things to look at/ avoid.
1. Is your office chair and/or car seat set up to support your lower back? Too much strain on your lower can cause the upper to be painful too.
2. Are you wearing the correct sized bra? Both cup and band size can change a lot during pregnancy and with hormones making your joints more slack, not wearing the correct size can cause a lot of problem, M&S and Mothercare are awful for sizing if you have been measured at either recently I can almost guarantee that it is the wrong size. As a rule of thumb, your band size shouldn't be more than 20 more than your dress size.
3. Are you drinking enough water? Muscle dehydration can cause stiffness.
4. Are you using a bump support band? And if so has it been assessed by the physio to ensure it is fitted correctly?
