NOT a Day for Cooking....

Dear All,

Earlier, technically Yesterday now, I went and, very willingly, 'Helped' my Mother- with a few 'Bits'.

This morning she called me "Did I think a Charity Shop would Like her 'Poirot Book Collection'.... some fifty years old. I phoned 'round' and, sure enough, the P(eoples)D(ispencery) for S(ick)A(nimals) said that they would take them.

My Mother came and picked me up- she Drives, I don't- and took me to her flat, where I put the Under Sheets, on her bed. It is a Large bed and the sheets have to be Stretched over, rather difficult for my Elderly Mother. I then carried down the Books, contained in, a medium large box, and a 'supermarket' bag, Not Heavy, as such, but maybe awkward- especially together. We drove to the town and.... parked right outside! Whilst there we went into Boots, I bought Shampoo, Conditioner, and a few 'other' Bits- my Mother bought some 'things' for herself. I paid the bill before we left, the shop.

A few days ago I had tried to Check/ Inflate my Mothers (car)Tyres .... without much success! The Machine was, very clearly, faulty.... stopping, starting and giving very 'funny' readings. So, whilst returning to her flat, I re-checked the tyres- using a different machine. It was very clear indeed that, this second machine, WAS Working correctly.

When we finally returned, to my Mother's Flat it was for a, very well deserved, Cuppa, and a chat. I called 'my' Local Chinese, whilst still at Mum's... it arrived about fifteen minutes after I go home..... A King Prawn Curry and Rice, very good too.

Such a relief sometimes to have a takeaway when you've had a tiring day. Glad it proved to be tasty!

Well that sounds like win win situation Andrew. Bet your mum is pleased her books were well received.👍
