Bit down today

Gray sleety morning yuck! My sister is going to have to bring her husband home today. Because he’s still throwing an occasional false positive after recovering from covid no care home will take him without $10,000 up front for a month. My sister doesn’t have it. I feel terrible because even though the doctors say it’s pretty common for quite a while after it makes me too scared to go over there just in case it’s still active and transmissible. She called me about New Years Eve. Tho she understands I feel awful because I don’t feel safe going over there. I feel so torn. I’ve been so careful and I don’t want to blow it now. She’s trying to get help during the week as she is much to frail to care for him by herself. Such a depressing mess! He’s still refusing to do what the doctors tell him to do which is get up and start moving there’s no reason why you can’t. Her sons will help as much as they can but they both work too. Just needed to vent I think.

What a worrying situation Spinner for your sister and nephews, and your brother-in-law too of course - so much money to ask for. I can understand how you feel but you must keep yourself safe. I feel sorry for your sister, it does sound very depressing especially for her. Maybe her sons can help with him getting a bit more mobile. 🤞 I wish you all strength to cope and protection from the dreaded virus. xx

Thank you springcross. It’s been very hard for her. She is rightfully depressed and angry about the whole situation. She is getting help from the boys and will be getting help from a physical therapist. But that will only help if he wants it too. I worry about when she is alone with him. She is 5 foot 2 and quite frail with breathing problems. He is over 6 feet tall and weighs more than 200 lbs! It’s an impossible situation ☹️☹️☹️.

Thank you smiler. It’s just one of those dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t situations. Hopefully we will all be able to get the vaccine soon as we are all over 70. My sister is 75 so hers should come up soon.

Thank you Jerry for your support. I have already told my sister I would be very uneasy coming over. She’s sad but understands. Nothing about this is 100% safe. I worry for her being with him if there is even the slightest chance he could be truly positive. I’ve told her to mask up if she needs to go near him and wash her hands. The saddest part in this whole mess is that it was totally unnecessary! If he had followed doctors orders he would have been home a long time ago and never contracted covid in the hospital.

What an awful situation to be in. However you have to put yourself first here. Imagine, forbid, that you were to go and get sick, this would only add to the strife they are already feeling! X
