I've realized that throughout this year I have sort of backtracked, understandably, so from this point forward I am going to try to focus on my spiritual journey and how to calm my head and heart. I think once I work on myself, everything else will fall into place. I will get back into meditating and be more consistent in my yoga practice-speaking it into existence! If anyone has a tidbit or mantra that could help me on this journey, let me know please!

I wonder if you would like to try the Buddhist 'Loving Kindness' meditation which is part of my practice.
Start by wishing yourself loving kindness, thus.
May I be filled with loving-kindness
May I be well
May I be peaceful and at ease
May I be happy
You begin with yourself because if you are not at ease, you cannot successfully wish the same for others.
Then begin to radiate this out. Repeat these words, sending loving kindness to your loved ones, friends and those you know well.
Radiate further. Use those same words to include people you don't personally know. Maybe your postman, everyone in the area you live it. You choose.
Continue your radiation in every direction, next sending those words to someone you actually don't like.
Onwards and outwards... include all animals, insects, every sentient thing in the North, South East West, in the air, in and above the earth, on and below the oceans and rivers and on and below the earth, until you have encompassed the whole world and its atmosphere.
If you do this every day, (and it only takes a few minutes) you will find that your heart softens towards all things, even your enemies. You may not always be able to forgive them completely, but you can forgive them as much as you are able.
Thank you so much!!! ❤️
This is benevolence - and is not specific to (any) religion.A friend of mine persuaded me to attend an Alpha course - his main argument was that the food was good. (As it turned out, about half of the course was on zoom!) He knows that I am a confirmed atheist, and I do not he thought that I would be concerted - I think he thought that I would benefit the group with my thoughts and contributions. I think I persuaded them that there can be such a thing as a benevolent atheist!
Indeed S11m and therein lies the beauty of Buddhism. It is followed by many as a philosophy and not a faith. I am atheist myself as Buddhism is too at its purest. Of course you can be a benevolent atheist!😊
