Adjusting to isolation day by day

I hope everyone is well

It has been three months of Lock Down now gradually easing . But I find the isolation as I live alone to be overwhelming at times

I would always reach out for leisure activities such as day trips throughout UK and visit Turkey or other countries overseas but due to the restrictions I have no choice but to be very careful

I realise we all have to be very careful with the easing of the Lockdown but when I see the sunshine I just would like to travel but we are living in very different times

Our religion teaches us to have patience and understanding and I have learnt a great deal about myself and still trying to cope with preparing for the resits in Sept and Jan as well as having the courage to find a years work experience

Life to a certain extent is what we make of it and our attitude to make to best of our current circumstances

Morning Roukaya, it is good you have a focus and working towards your resits should absorb much of your time. Nows the time to prepared and get all the hard work done. The leisure industry is starting to open up again, so a trip out or booking a holiday for later on in the year is now looking like more of a possibility, giving you more to look forward too. Life certainly is what we make of it that is true. So maybe after your resits you could think if a trip may even be possible. Have a great day. The weather is glorious today so be sure to get out for a walk. 🌞😊

Good morning

I hope you are well

Thank you for replying to my post

I know that the resits and seeking a years work experience are the priority right now and hopefully a little break to see another environment would be very welcoming .

I think loneliness in Lockdown can be a little overwhelming but it is also essential to have gratitude for what we have and only we can steer the course of our lives

To be responsible for all aspects of our life to take steps towards our own fulfilment is something we have to work at

Lock Down I think forces us to assesses our life and our purpose and I expect many on this site are doing the best they can

I wish you a good day in this beautiful weather

Hello Roukaya,

Patience and understanding are two great qualities and I'm sure they will help many of us through the trying period that's to come after lock-down. Now we see the extent of our troubles, as doing anything safely may be elusive for a long time to come. It is frustrating not to be able to enjoy travel or any of the things we liked previously. Whilst I don't suffer much from fear, I really would find no enjoyment in travel, shopping, or going out in such restrictive circumstances as are going to prevail for the foreseeable future. So I feel that instead of hankering after such things, it's better to try to find contentment in different things which you can enjoy close to home, and be safer and happier all around.

You're right. Life is what we make it and a good attitude is essential in doing that! Take care and I hope you have a lovely day today.🙏

I think as I am an isolated and lonely person I miss the leisure activities I once had

Hopefully gradually I will try to go out with proper protection

I hope you are well

How do you manage your days ?

I know I should be studying and applying for a years work experience

Hi Roukaya, We all need a social life of some kind, it's true, and it's not easy when you live alone. i guess that those of us who don't want the sort of restrictive socialising that's going to be possible, are going to have to be more inventive. Like entertaining friends at home more, for example, or finding spots where you can safely be together outdoors.

I've been very lucky to be so involved in this lovely community from the moment it repurposed to support everyone through lockdown. I've met new online friends, learned a great deal from other people and even shared their fears and sorrows as well as their triumphs over difficulties. It's given me something to focus on every day and its been fascinating but often quite busy. There was quite a frenetic period in the beginning as so many people who were searching for help, found us and joined. On several days in their hundreds!

This could be a golden opportunity for you Roukaya to really focus your attention on getting through your exam! Fewer distractions and you could really knuckle down and succeed! Maybe take this as your challenge and put all your energy into it? Imagine how triumphant you'll feel when you succeed! And by then, who knows? It may be possible to do some travelling again, even if only within the United Kingdom! 🙏
