Good morning

I hope you are safe and well

I listened to the video with great interest I

am a British born Muslim and we believe in destiny but and it can be easy to be fatalistic in our belief system

The video has shown me somethings are predestined and the ability to persevere and to fight our current situation is necessary to remove us from whatever situation limits us

Certainly reinforces what I have always believed

I expect from a personal level I become sad that at fifty that I am trying to requalify and

I cannot go back in and wish I was younger

This will always be my deepest regret that I am trying at such a late age

Or you could look at it differently.

You could realise that you have a fabulous opportunity to which not many people can lay claim.

You have the opportunity to re-qualify in a field of your choice.

It's so very obvious that you are not a victim. Why perceive yourself as one?

You are not old at fifty. Why focus on your age?

Obsessing over your age could be construed as an offensive stance by people over the age of 50.

People like me, for instance. I am 54.

Yet I do not think of myself as being over the hill.

Until I read your posts declaring that you are old at 50.

You are in a privileged position.

Start to appreciate and understand that privilege.

By your own account, you have independence, property, assets, a lovable - albeit dominant - mother, a wider family, a sense of humour, the ability to travel (obviously not during the lockdown situation) and sound physical health.

Most importantly, you have a future.

These are blessings, blessings that I would welcome in a heartbeat... If I had my physical health and the wealth of opportunities available to you, I would thrive!

If I had any kind of future, I would soar!

But I have none of these. Other than my mother. And a (sometimes dark) SoH.

Yet I do not continually focus on my various deficits.

I am content with my lot.

Regret is a poisoned chalice.

Look ahead with confidence.

Be kinder to yourself and you will be kinder to other people, too.

Be a little less self-absorbed and the world will open up to you.

This is intended as constructive criticism.

Count your blessings, for they are many.

Choose happiness.

Free yourself.

Be well. Be happy.

Enjoy your evening.

Good evening

I hope you are keeping well

I am apologise if I come across as self absorbed . Never meant it like that .

This is a platform by which I am able to talk as I am very much on my own.

On the other hand I value your honest and kind understanding

This much appreciated but may be in my culture age particularly for women can be stigmatised .

But I truly value what you have said and if I could start to believe in myself more I could probably reach my aims .

I was wondering how you are ?

I hope you are are ok

I have something I would like to say

My Mother has a part time retired driver who used to boast that his son in law who only works for the Airport and he is paid is Euros .

He would further boast that he only buys Oreos for his grand children to eat.

I often tell my Mother how is your driver who only talks of Euros and Oreos

I hope that as many people as possible watch this. It tells a very simple but very important truth. Thank you namaha! 🙏
