update on blood results

Good morning everyone - so referring back to last weeks post my blood tests came back showing raised Neutrophil count 10.2 and my C-reactive protein up at 12 - so GP suggested going back to 12mg for 2 weeks then dropping to 11 for a further 2 weeks then repeating bloods.

I also asked for a referral for a Dexa scan - which he has done but is doubtful that I will be accepted for one. He is very keen that I should start AA.

I have been having a very busy time - my eldest son has moved into a cottage and conveniently disappeared off to the States until 23rd December - so I am travelling up and down - just over 2 hours - to receive furniture deliveries - but have to say I feel fine - probably thanks to Pred my energy levels are good - but they usually are even after bad nights sleep.

It’s a busy time for us all in the run up to Christmas - so take care everyone and if I don’t post again wishing us all a Happy time and all good things and better health in 2024! ⛄️🎄

I didn’t want to take AA when I started pred (15mg) summer 2020. Fortunately I persuaded them to do a dexa scan and it showed I already had osteoporosis. The scan was in the autumn about six months in. Of course I may have already had it but the GP had previously ruled it out pre PMR dx.

How did he rule it out pre-PMR?

I don’t mean he specifically said I didn’t have it but he didn’t think it was likely given my size and shape etc and absence of faddy eating (I’m vegetarian but that didn’t bother him). Therefore there was no indication it was the cause of my aches and pains.

Wrong - it doesn't always follow I fear. If it did, there would be no need for dexascans.
