Ischaemic small vessel disease/scar on brain ? caused by PMR

I have recently been having numbing of hand/arm/mouth/tongue and have been seen at the Stroke clinic. After a brain MRI, I was told I have cerebrovascular small vessel disease in keeping with my PMR. Didn't realise that PMR could cause vascular problems. Has anyone else had this vascular crossover?

PMR is almost certainly a vasculitis but no-one has identified where or how it manifests as far as I know. Maybe this is a link.

This systematic review

pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/304...

says "Positive associations were found between PMR diagnosis and stroke, cardiovascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, diverticular disease and hypothyroidism."

Which I'm sure will interest a few people including SheffieldJane

However - I have seen several articles saying that PMR doesn't seem to shorten life expectancy,
