Have I done right increasing steroids as per sick day rules to 10mg

I would appreciate peoples thoughts. I have completed a lot of detail on my profile BUT on the 1st January increased to 6 mg to hit the flare following vaccine then reduced to 3 mg on the 6th felt fine until OH developed a cough and runny nose which he kindly passed on to me. By the 17th | felt rough, more than just a cold exhausted, did not want eat and ended up going to bed really early on the 18th and decided to start the sick day rules which is not me and stayed there yesterday. Did not sleep very well last night as coughing, no infection just a dry tickle. Still feeling tired and resting. Tried to contact GP by econsult to be sent a txt to say a Doctor may wish to contact me on the 31st January. I am not keen on steroids as I get side effects do not enjoy, suffered adrenal insufficiency as reduced plus I have now been identified as osteoporotic.

Have I done the right thing and should I reduce the 10mg as soon as I feel able to stay up all day and drop back to 3mg or should I do it more gradually all things considered ?

Have you checked for Covid?

As long as it is under 7-10 days you can drop back to the previous dose once you feel better.

Thank you for your quick reply you have reassured me I am doing the right. I think the cough may linger but I will feel better as that is what happened to our daughter
