PMR flare - Covid 5 vaccination

Don't think this co-incidence but after 4mgs for last year, had Covid 5 jab (moderna - others were AZ and Pfizer) yesterday and woke in night practically unable to move. Took 9mgs, can now just walk but the familiar ache is still there. Hoping there is a positive to this, like immune system taken protection on board but somehow think it might just be PMR being opportunistic - again!

I woke up with very stiff joints the next morning after jab 4 Moderna. I didn't increase my pred. Most if it wore off in the next 2 weeks but I am still a bit worse than I was before the jab a month later. I am not particularly surprised because I developed PMR 5 days after my first Astrazeneca vaccine. I think I might have got my pred down far enough at 5.5mg for the jab to have provided better immunity?

A lot of people have said they reacted to Moderna when they didn't react to other vaccines. I was stiff after the second one like a minor flare and nothing with the next 2 Pfizer jabs.

Mind you - it is a while since my 4th jab, May I think, but I woke last night and still this morning stiff and aching! Paracetamol has helped - no idea where it came from!!!!

It's like a bad fairy lurking round every corner - just waiting! This was quite major, still half asleep and couldn't move - took a while for brain to get around what was happening!

I often wake with a deep nagging ache in my hip joints! Lord knows where it comes from!!

Hi Poshdog! I had a huge allergic reaction to the Moderna vaccine —- my 5th. Swollen face and eye ——- diarrhoea, blood, I ended up in hospital with a stomach infection ( heavy bleeding!!) needing antibiotics . The other jabs were all fine—- Pfizer. Never again Moderna and I’ve now got Covid six weeks later! 😢😢😢
