Is infrared therapy helpful for pmr?

I have recently been diagnosed with fairly severe osteoarthritis in my knee and also pmr. Some research suggests infrared therapy is helpful in relieving arthritis pain. Has anyone used it to help pmr pain and stiffness? I am thinking of buying an infrared lamp. Thanks.

I not aware of any reputable studies on this but would be interested. I'll take a look. There are very few studies on red light, and fewer that could even be considered well executed. I do go to get full body red light every week, but couldn't say if it helps. I can say I'm running healthy now with no knee pain from my OA, but that could just be luck. As for PMR, I'm doubtful but would love to see any studies on it.
