Hi, Sorry for delay, there’s seems to be an issue with notifications - again.
You could try moving the 2mg to late evening - ie. before your ‘new’ bedtime - and the 6mg to mornings.
It might be a bit of trial and error, and a few days of body adjusting to new dose.
Hi there do you think I shouldn't have any at 3.30am then xxx thank you for getting back to me xx
Well if you’re going to be off work for next few weeks I would try and get into new daily routine, so you feel better in daytime.
A small amount before you go to bed will help first thing in morning...and the bulk will see you through the day.
Under normal circumstances when splitting dose it’s 1/3rd bedtime, 2/3rd breakfast....so I was suggesting you follow that type of regime.
But as I said ...maybe a bit of trial & error. Never been in your situation, so it’s best guess really,
If you are adjusting the dose don't worry about having two doses a bit closer together to shift - you'll just have an extra good day! I might try the 6pm dose followed by a bit before bed and then the bigger dose in the morning - if you see what I mean
Hi, im no expert ! But i was taking 10mil daily usually when i got up around 7am. I decided to take 5mil @7am and 5mil at 7pm so it covered the 24 hours. Everything changed for the better , i was 95% pain free 😊 ive been doing this since June and haven't looked back. I was waking up in pain stiff and taking a while to get going , thats why i i thought the second dose would take me through the night and a better start in the morning . Im sure you'll get the correct advice on this great site 😊 Good luck
Thank you xxx
Hi Maggie, I had no idea if this was the thing to do , i just had a “lightbulb moment,” i hadn't read it anywhere and hadn't run it past the professional’s , it was a desperate move to try to get back to the old me !! 😉
We often suggest it when it appears the effect isn't lasting the full 24 hours. There are a few doctors who approve too, especially at doses above the adrenal threshold. But even then, splitting won;t hurt the return f adrenal functuon provided you take the second dose as early in the day as you can. A very low steroid level in the blood at midnight is what triggers the next morning's cortisol.
