Cutaneous Vasculitis

My GCA is probably in remission but the PMR is bad. I believe I had Covid last February. Could not get a test sbd did not want to go to hospital. I was already on plaquinil and prednisone and added holistic supplement protocol by Dr Dietrick Klinghart and also the Life Extension Co. It was an awful 4 months before my fever went back to normal and now I have other stuff going on and feel an awful lot of pain. Waiting months to get new rheumatologist. I have these awful sore lesions on my body that started at the end of fighting the virus. Biopsy was worthless but they sure look like vasculitis issue. My pain is much worse then it was but I am also off the actemra and my prednisone is 5 mgs.

Just wondering if anyone has these lesions and if you can you tell me more. I see the rheumatologist that specializes in vasculitis on Jan 19.

Best wishes to all for a much better Year.

Good morning, you have had a terrible few months after covid from what you describe. I do hope it all improves.

I would say that your pred isn't enough to manage the pain but can see you are waiting to see rheumatology.

Those lesions look familiar, I get them. Not as many at a time and they can appear on my legs and arms and they take a while to heal and if I knock them they bleed like mad. I'm still looking for a diagnosis between spondyloarthritis/PMR and RA and am on pred. Who know what they are?

I used to have similar eruptions with PMR in the early days but they have been far fewer since being on pred, just one or two if I am flaring. The main cause for me originally was a probable allergy to something in wheat starch - it is much less a problem with spelt or kamut and I seem to be able to eat other gluten-containing grains.

If it was Covid you had then long Covid does seem to cause some form of vasculitis.
