Following the advice of the wise women

Thank you to all who responded to my query about CRP and ESR. It's great to have a network to reach out to, especially from southeast British Columbia.

I followed the advice and topped my daily prednisone to 7 ( a jump from 5) a day and immediately the aches and pains disappeared. Just needed that balance. After a couple weeks I dropped down to 6 and will stay there for a few more weeks before thinking about reducing further. Slow and steady....

Have slowed down a bit crocheting as well, but I am confident the epic baby blanket ( I foolishly choose a 3.75 hook and fine yarn) will be completed before the big arrival. Next time I will use the BIG hook and Bulky yarn....

I have attached a photo of my balcony garden as the rains have stopped and the sun is shining. Gotta love July in the mountains...

Cheers and thanks again.

Excellent News! You’ll be so delighted with the blanket in the end but do a bit less each day. One of our Ladies in North Wales has slowed up on her crocheting too!

When is the baby due?

Enjoy your beautiful view!

Late August and I am over half finished...it's just slow as the hook is so tiny, tiny...

Good Luck & let us know when Baby is born! There are a lot of gushing Grandma & Nana’s on here! My Baby Grandaughter was one at the beginning of the month. 💕

She’s been to a photo shoot today but wasn’t very cooperative, she has a mind of her own! 😉

Lovely photo and so glad that you are feeling better and the advice has helped you.

Yes , lots of us have noticed that crochet is an " extreme sport" for the arms and hands .

Lots of little breaks and rotating your wrists and hands required. And a nice hand lotion before and after.

Big yarn , big hook also has its drawbacks, big weight.

I have suffered with Crochet Blanket Making Fatigue ( don't think we have got a forum on HU yet to help with these wool based health crisises but I think we need one!) especially on making a king size throw as an anniversary present for my OH.

Can't wait to see a photo of the results of your efforts when you post an update on how you are doing , so glad you joined our happy bunch!😘

Your balcony garden is beautiful, you are lucky. Lost in admiration for your crochet skills. I am sure it’s good for arthritic fingers like mine. I never progressed much further than squares for Oxfam and one forlorn looking teddy. Good luck with the new baby you lucky granny! 🌷
