Ok here is my story. I have had bad periods all my life and at 47 it's still causing me grief.I was placed on the pill as a teenager to help.The 25year old threshold, became a significant landmark for me.
I started to experience really painful heavy periods where I have felt like I can't move from my chair as the pressure lifting up made it worse. However, I was regular as clockwork almost to the hour.
I started to get thrush and this continued for 3 years trying different brands. My hormone levels were high like a person who breastfeeds and had to come off it. This thankfully stopped instantly.
Over the years I have had multiple breast cysts, I've lost count and I tend to visit the hospital to check on a new cyst nearly 9-12months.
These last few years my periods have become regular but late, extremely heavy where I'm using tampons and sanitary towels at the same time. It can last weeks and I visit the bathroom every hour on my worst days to 2 hours on others.
I'm tired/irritable/weak/dizzy/often find having a poo a challenge/ sex is uncomfortable/ lower back aches at night/fatigued/emotional/sad and I want this all to stop. I have waited a long time for medical treatment.
Oct 22, I was told I have ovarian cyst and multiple fibroids and 1 is large.
Nov23, i was told i have no cyst (wahoo!) and now I have 2 large fibroids. I have been offered a coil which I know can cause cysts. Well I'm already prone and turned down this treatment as really don't want anymore, so that's a no from me.
Saturday I will have a Hysteroscopy. Wish me luck.
