Pain help?

My pelvic floor is in spasm. This is a new condition for me. Im on suppositories and use heat and ice. The pain is either intense or poof, it's gone. Then the cycle repeats. Im scared to panic this wont go away. I lay in bed in pain. Getting weak from laying, no appetite, and terrified. Can someone offer some support/experience. I am going to pelvic floor PT 22 June but my anxiety is keeping me housebound. I WILL get to PT. What's the story with this? I appreciate your advice.

HiI am so sorry you're in so much pain. I would seriously recommend a book called "a headache in the pelvis" so you can get a better idea of what kind of pelvic pain you are suffering from and personally I found it to be quite informative and the pressure point section useful. From 3 years bad experience with various doctors and medical people I've learnt that you really need to educate yourself yourself as much as possible so you can direct them (doctors) in your treatment and recovery because they just don't seem to understand this condition at all. If you can afford to go private then do so as im pretty sure you'll get better help. It seems everyone here has different types of pelvic pain so if you could describe more details as to whats going on with your symptoms I'm sure people can help with advise. Find out if you have a overly tight pelvis or a lazy pelvis this is important to know as you should probably avoid kegal exercises if you have a tight pelvis or you will make yourself worse (i did anyway). I've started taking zylaria at night to help me sleep, this might help. I really don't know much about general pelvic conditions but if by chance you think you have pudendal neuralgia I'd be happy to talk more about that as that's what I have. All the best, keep researching and honestly I'd get yourself that book and see if there's anything in there that can help. X x

I had been dealing with almost the same symptoms for approximately six years. Finally found a Dr. that gave me steroid shots in vaginal area. Have only had to use a few suppositories. I got this issue around age 75.. You sound younger so I honestly hope that you will find some help. Good Luck

Did the steroid injections make it stop? I have tight pelvic floor muscles. The uro gyn suggested this if suppositories dont help. Thanks Perry.

Steroids helped me immensely. Started when I was 75 and finally got relief a few years later. Steroid shot and sometimes vaginal suppository. Hope this helps you.

Do you mean shots with Botox? I've never heard of steroid shots, just Botox shots. The Botox paralyzes the tight pelvic muscles. How do steroids help the muscles?

Yes, steroids injection. Not sure why or how they work but Dr. gave me three shots on inside vagina on each side. Painful when getting them but it’s been about 2 years and they really helped.

Okay, and a vaginal suppository helped you too? Would that have been a valium (diazepam) suppository or something else? I'm taking Baclofen and using dilators to get rid of this awful pain and muscle tightness but I feel like I need something more to help. I'm curious about suppositories. My problem started after repeat UTIs due to menopause. Now I'm on vaginal estrogen for vaginal atrophy due to menopause. I wonder if I can use suppositories while also taking vaginal estrogen three times a week.

Yes Im taking everything at the same time. Uro Gyno says its all ok.

Yes the suppository helps. It contains 2% diazepam. I don’t need it every night just when I get the burning which fortunately it’s a lot better. It does not contain estrogen. I also had pelvic floor therapy which helped some. I also had repeated UTIs. Not fun. I really hope that you get relief. soon.

I was like you with severe pain, fearful of pain, laying in bed, no appetite, sanxiuos, staying home. A urogynecologist diagnosed hypertonic or tight pelvic floor dysfunction. I used Baclofen and also Flexeril suppository. No pain pills but use CBD and medical marijuana. I have been in pelvic PT fir six months and I am significantly improved. You will get better.

Sorry this happened to you. My pfd was a resultof a catheter for an unrelated medical condition followed by prolonged uti. I did move on to a second pelvic pt who is a better fit for me. I researched a lot and found the Australian pelvic website helpful. For now, practice belly breathing and on Google playstorea meditation app called Insight Timer.

Thankfully the pain isnt 24/7 but it's everyday and I am TIRED. I just lay here. My anxiety condition just makes me flare.I do belly breathing but it doesnt stop the pain when it starts.
