Hi Everyone,

Today I work up to a report of abuse on this site. This is something both myself and the charity take very seriously as not only do we want to help people but the safety and wellbeing of others is equally important. This is a space where everyone is welcome.

Regardless of beliefs that some hold on immigration (both legal and illegal) this is not the sole cause of difficulties in accessing healthcare due to long waiting times, wrongly held beliefs about illnesses or patients, patients referred via wrong pathways. The number one failure is lack of investment in the healthcare systems in many countries, followed by pressures from COVID which is still putting a lot of pressure on healthcare especially in the UK where numbers remain high. Other causes that we are all aware of on here is wrongly held assumptions/teachings on many illnesses/conditions which carry on from one healthcare generation to the next despite up to date information and studies being available. This is an entrenched problem which is proving problematic to solve. Whilst there are many superstars who work in healthcare there are still too many who fail to listen/ learn which has an impact on waiting times due to patients often having to seek repeated referrals before being correctly diagnosed.

As a charity we value our input and involvement in health care research & projects, being involved with various government bodies both in the UK and in Europe as well as professional healthcare bodies such as the RCOG. Equally we value those healthcare professionals who continue to support us in our own patient journeys as well as everyone here.

Here in the UK (including recently) as well as other countries the government line has been to blame immigrants for their own failures to invest in healthcare including supporting community based care as not everyone will require hospital or specialist care for management of their condition(s). I could continue but hopefully I’ve provided enough food for thought. If anyone wants to comment on this post or prefers to message me privately please do.

Well said Alaine, this site has helped me over the years. What's wrong with people these days, they have nothing better to do with their lives, but to come onto helpful sites like these ones and give abuse. Keep up the good work Alaine.
