Endometriosis flare up?

Good morning,

Just wanted to pick your brains about endometriosis. Back story first...

I had a laparoscopy in December 2019 to remove ovarian cyst and zap endometriosis away and then had copper coil fitted as surgeon recommended. 12 months later I still had crippling cramps, daily, heavy periods and horrendous headaches. Had coil removed December 2020 and nurse referred me back to gynaecologist to discuss hysterectomy options. I’ve been managing endometriosis pain with painkillers, exercise and my best friend - the hot water bottle - but today I’m in agony. Not had pain like this since I gave birth to my 2 children. Agonising ball of fire low in pelvis, comes and goes and stomach tender to touch. My poor husband was ready to call an ambulance bless him. Is this the norm? Do I just ride it out? Thank you for reading and for your thoughts and suggestions.

Hi PelucaPastora83I am experiencing similar pain ... lower pelvic, stomach area. Though I don't get bad cramps or heavy periods - been on the pill since Uni days.

I had a C-section (emergency) in 2003 - then in 2012 had another op to remove what was thought to be a hernia but turned out to be a mass of tissue - sent for pathology and nothing. Had pelvic scans, internal checks, endoscopy & gastroscopy - all normal. Endometriosis was diagnostic but inconclusive.

All was fine till 2019 - when the pain cam back, along with the slightly bulge in that area - went for another pelvic scan - fibroid detected - though only 25mm in the back of the uterus - pain then subsided on & off ... till beginning of 2021 when it came back with a vengeance . So more scans - the fibroid is still there - not decreased or increased in size - so now waiting for MRI ... my best friend is the hot water bottle too - try and not take much painkillers as suffer from auto-immune hepatitis so on immuno-suppressants.

Don't know if this norm ... but can relate to the pain that you are experiencing.

Hope this helps and hope things get better for you.

xx
