For those of you seeking Quality PT in NYC this is a long overdue post. I can’t recommend Body Harmony enough. They are a high source. The people have a wealth of knowledge bar none. The experience is professional and without shiny phony expensive bells and whistles. There connections in the field far surpass their own practitioners. This place is the real deal. And the people are caring and amazing. The owner is very special. This PT practice is one of the most supportive and most experienced environments in NYC. I have nothing to gain by posting this other than if I were to ever go back it might be extremely hard to get in after posting this.

I have seen most of the practices in nyc and they are by far the best!

..

Please be Leary, equally I think it is important to share and forewarn the below,

I think it is important to also share my opinion after multiple visits with multiple therapists at Beyond Basics. Known by patients and practitioners alike as

“The Mill”

Hours are grueling and the staff fresh out of school who don’t have much experience and pretty grueling hours. Patients are guinea pigs.

As patients leave the elevator and hall chatter begins, each time someone is EXTREMELY UPSET. Angry elevator stories while leaving Everytime I was there. I left after losing a small fortune with zero to no qualitative gain and quantitative gain. When my new Gynocologist handed me “The Book” I couldn’t believe this practice was the one being supported after quite some time with such overtly inhuman treatment of rushing patients in and out a system of obvious greed all scripted to take your money with so very little in return.

There will be patients who it has helped and that is great! but for anyone looking it is my opinion to choose someplace else or be prepared to break open your 401k as you will need it. A sense of actually being robbed and taken for a sleigh ride in July pretty much covers it

The extreme greed includes the highest cost session from anyone in the city. The front desk is trained to only deal with booking and billing. There is no one to help personally when someone is in severe pain to guide or nurture them if not in the 45 min session which is really 35 min after practitioners walk sometimes in their high heels out to get you. Or there was a pregnant practitioner poor thing who had to take breaks for her own comfort 5-10 minutes sometimes more than once in the session and sessions could not expand for the patient big money down the drain. With the required documentation and required updates used to give the practitioner a break on the patients dime so obviously, what’s left of your 25 min after changing in the 45 min leaves about 15-20 often times is consumed to type in your complaints as you go another 10 min down the drain to help the tired often rushed or too laid back from being exhausted. Then you get an impersonal e-mail your practitioner left and you start over with someone new and no explanation of your problem to the new practitioner?? What??

Five Point PT also offers quality Pt’s for your 45 min the organization is professional but 45min is not enough with the need to change before and after as part of your session and the quick necessary documentation of your improvement and complaint. Body Harmony offers 1 hour which by the time everyone speaks and changes gives time to be a person.

Maiden Lane is also considered a mill for pT. I did not go. A psych eval is required there to see a doctor and you pay 100. For them covering themselves from a lawsuit through the psych eval and it is required that the patient pay before the doctor will even see you. What??

I can safely say be Leary of the offices with a hard and fast gate keeper. It tells you out of the starting gate your money is more important to them than You are while you are shopping. And remember more expensive and fancier offices is not necessarily better.

There are more reviews for computers, restaurants out there. Restaurants even have a letter system in the windows. But think about it, the most intimate part of our bodies the Pelvis there is a very real need for opinion and especially reviews say on Yelp! Although I’m sure the above greed would cheat and buy that too!

This site is a blessing for having that and for the wonderful people to run it!!!

I wanted to once and for all help those needing a good PT in Manhattan! I hope it does!

I mailed the book back to the Gynocologist...

Thanks, Pinky. Good to know. Does Body Harmony take health insurance? Upon moving to NYC, I was very surprised to learn that most health providers here don't take health insurance. My out-of-pocket medical expenses have been over $3k per year, and that's with very limited appointments. I can see how someone could end up paying $3k each month.

There is a place on the form to fill out insurance. Since insurance is so very individual I imagine benefits vary widely.

Right here is the difference between people who care about people as opposed to the other aforementioned..

Their Website shares all associations, wonderful books as well as shared practitioners with the world right on the website whether you pay them a dime or not!

There is a book by Deborah Coady listed another high source.

The fees are very reasonable. Book a few sessions with the owner to discuss a plan and perhaps what practitioner is best for you. The information shared is thoughtful and she has medical connections to doctors in the city that are different from anyone that could be life changing. The practitioners are wonderful.
