Groin pain gone

For 21/2 years I had constant pain in my pubic area. Thinking it was a prolapse, doctor sent me to PFPT. It helped ease the pain. Neuromuscular massage for two years was a great relief. Meditation and yoga helped tremendously. Went to a therapist that practices Structual Integration. At the end of session, he did a procedure and we both heard a loud pop. My pubis symphosis(sic) had been dislocated. I was no longer in pain in my groin. My tailbone pain is gone. Just keep on exploring and be open to new treatments.

Thank you for sharing! There are a lot of questions on this forum but far fewer answers and stories of recovery. I am glad to hear you explored many options and figured out what the issue was. Structural alignment and integrity are so important and often overlooked. I had a debilitating injury after a car accident. All of the MDs thought the problem was in my spine, but in fact, the problem was a rotated ilium (pelvis). Unfortunately, it didnt get discovered until 3 years had gone by, and I gained a compensation injury (pudendal nerve pain). Luckily, after 9 years, the PN pain has been diminishing very gradually, and I'm able to work again. Anyway, thanks for sharing; maybe others on here could also benefit from structural integrity assessment.

Hi Cardinal, I also have a rotated pelvis. What do you think has helped your PN pain diminish?

Hi. Sorry to hear you have pain, as well. Going to a physical therapist who helped "unrotate" my pelvis helped a lot. Finding a chair that was more comfortable to sit in (and supportive) helped. And increasing my pain med (methadone) for a while until I started to get everything under control. Also using a u-shaped big body pillow while in bed. And having a firm mattress instead of plush or medium. All of those things helped.

Hi Cardinal, thanks for responding so quickly! I had gone to PT for 4 months and he kept having to put me back in alignment. I haven't gone for a month so I'm probably back out. How do you use a U shaped body pillow in bed and where did you find it? I have pain when sitting from the inner side of my sit bone thru my butt crack. Are you now able to sit without pain? I bought a purple cushion from Bed Bath and Beyond and can sit long enough to eat meals, but not much longer without causing pain.

The pillow I use is called "Comfort-U" body pillow. It's usually used by women who are pregnant, but it helps me. I cant lay down on my back because my PN pain will flare up. I cant sleep on my stomach because my lower back will hurt. The pillow keeps me on my side and also it goes between your legs, too, so really puts you in a comfortable position. It's $100, and you can get it on amazon. There are cheaper brands, too, but I've had a good experience with this one. I think they still also make it in a petite size for taking on trips. Yes, I can sit without pain, but only if I'm sitting on my Aeron chair and if Ive had my pain med (can sit for several hours this way). I am also now able to sit for about 30 min at like a starbucks, but anything more than that I'd need to bring a seat cushion. I believe mine is also the purple cushion, but it's the portable one that folds in half and has a handle. Not sure if they make them still.
