Piriformis muscle spasm

Hi Everyone- I was just wondering if anyone has had their piriformis muscle worked on through pelvic PT through the rectum? If so, is this very far into the rectum? If anyone has had this muscle go into spasm, if you could share how you were able to decrease the spasms and or come out of it I would be grateful. Thanks to all!

You could try the monster walk this stretches out hips laterally, worked for me but not for others bot worth a try.

I have steroid injections directly into the piraformis. I go to a physical therapist who uses a technique called active release which is very helpful and Thursday will have platelet rich plasma injected directly into muscle. Oh and have been on opiates for years. If you can get gabapentin, it’s worth a try. I mostly use it for nerve pain tho, not muscular

Hi thanks so much for responding! I am thinking of trying external Botox to the piriformis muscle. Very interested to hear about the PRP you are going to have on Thursday. What is the reasoning behind this?
