I've just been at my post op appointment after my laproscopy and hysteroscopy 3 weeks ago.

I was originally referred after increased pelvic pain, numbness in my legs and cycles which were becoming shorter. This all started getting worse after I stopped taking the pill. My gp sent me for ultrasounds and a blood filled cyst was found in my uterus. She wanted to keep an eye on it so I got another scan 6 weeks later which showed it had grown.

After this I was referred to a general gynae and she was awful. Hardly listened to me and when I asked at my 2nd consultation what was happening with the cyst she said what cyst?

So I know I should have realised she wasn't the right person but I had the surgery done by her anyway. I had my post op today to be told....

Everything looks normal.....there were a few areas of bleeding but it's not endometriosis.

Then when I asked about why and what the cyst was she said what cyst AGAIN!

Then said oh it's erm blood growing out of your muscle wall. I'll refer to back to your gp to investigate your bowel.

Now this has been going on for 16 years and I've had my bowel investigations, intolerance to food tests etc.

I'm now going back to my gp with a list of everything I've ever been tested for, everytime I've been to hospital or the doctors for pelvic pain, all of my symptoms and exactly what I was just told by the gynae.

My symptoms are...

Pelvic pain almost everyday from dull heavy cramping to sharp pain when I cough or reach the wrong way and tugging feeling when I go to the toilet.

My periods last about 8 days and my cycles are about 22 days long.

I have severe bloating the week before my period and then a mixture of wind and constipation until I bleed.

Any help appreciated because I'm at a total loss now. X x x

Do you know that you can apply for copies of all your medical records? Try phoning the hospital now and ask for Medical Records Legal dept. You may have to fill in a form. Of write a letter.

Ask for copies of ALL your records including all your scan reports and images , blood test results and all notes.

You will be able to see everything then for yourself and will be better equipped when you see your GP to ask questions. You have a right to ask for full diagnosis.
