Help needed

Hello, I'm new here I got diagnosed with Fibroids last September Im not getting much help from the hospital. I was just wondering if could of been caused by my implant as thats what the consultant is saying it is. Thank you

Hi,

I can only offer my experience and I'm afraid you'll only ever be expected to live/cope with fibroids. I think also only time will tell if implants effect fibroids, probably if having a foreign body in the womb is harmful it won't become apparent until it's far too late for our generation.

Most likely not caused by implant though as most women have fibroids and whereas decades ago hysterectomy was the only option, now they will always go for any other option, less invasive and cheaper.

I have "large" fibroids and my specialist actually said that the implant could help reduce them. No one knows why fibroids develop so if your consultant is saying that I would look to get a second opinion. I have found that in general doctors are not that keen to treat fibroids on the basis that in general they do not cause problems unless they are large. In my case, the issue is I have anaemia and bladder problems.

Hi thank you i'll see what she says next week than go back to my doctor asked him to send me somewhere else
