Does anyone have experience with this? My daughter is having horrible pain in the pubic bone region and her X-ray shows the pelvic structure of a 60+ year old woman, she’s 17. Her Pubic Symphasis is what we’re looking at! Any ideas?

Osteitis Pubis
I had osteitis pubis shown by X-ray following birth of my first child. I suffered horrendous spd (PGP pelvic girdle pain as it's now known) during and after pregnancy, which is a painful condition due to misalignment of pelvis and/or looser ligaments due to pregnancy. The osteitis pubis healed and got better fairly quickly, even though years later, I still have to manage my condition as a whole with exercise. It is my Sacroiliac joints that have always complained the most. Has your daughter been seen by a sports or women's health physio? Sports people such as footballers can get osteitis pubis, due to the shearing effect of their sport on the pelvis. I believe it will get better for your daughter but a sports physio or women's health physio (choose carefully) may be the way to go,
Yes she has seen a Sports PT and 2 ortho drs. What can’t be seen in this pic is 3 areas of calcification in the hip bones, her right hip and the reason behind the comment is evidently this is common, but not in young women, usually in older women? They’re questioning Ankylosing Apodylitis. Until they figure it out she suffering everyday She’s been on a steroid pack since Friday and is actually having relief but we know she can’t stay on them. Any recommendations after the meds wear off? Exercise? Rest?
I agree with bc18. Aside from her symphysis pubis alignment though, her pelvis looks healthy to me and not that of a 60 year old, in terms of bone health (I'm a Student Radiographer... not a Doctor though) 😜 x
