Pethidine is an addictive drug as regular use will make you become dependant on it. Apart from that it is a very strong pain medication that is a sedative as well. I would suggest that you go to your GP and get a referral to a pain management clinic to find an alternative medication that will help you. If you feel that you have become dependant on Pethidine discuss this with your GP and pain management specialist. I am surprised that any doctor would prescribe this medication on a regular basis and for such a long time. I hope this helps. Best wishes.

hello

thankyou

I don't feel I am addicted and this was supported via the pain clinic, to which i was initially referred 8 years ago. i feel they give me a couple of hours good relief. i have tried many other drugs, antid, lyrica, therapy, blocker inj, botox, inj, patches, morphine, physo, talking therapy.

I need a clearance done but - No further surgery (4 major), between taking these tablets and *walking it out* when its peaking, and keeping my mind and hands occupied ...its the most effective, i cannot say i feel sleepy when i take them unless i have had no continuious sleep for a couple of days then i guess that would be expected.

just wondering if these is anyone else outhere using these tabs and their coping/effects etc.

i do not enjoy taking them

You could also discuss this with your local pharmacist who may be able to suggest something else - just a thought.

Hi,

I am happy that they give you some relief. I take oxycodone and it really makes me feel better. I guess you just wanted to know if there was anyone out there taking the same medication as you, for feedback, not for talking about how addictive it is. Hope you continue getting relief.

Best regards
