Severe abdominal pain with persistent vomitting. . .

Hi all. Not long been discharged from the hospital after spending 3 hours in A&E to be told that I am suffering from a 'possible stomach bug'.

I have been vomiting almost everything up for the past week, which 3 days ago got alot worse; to the point where I can't keep anything down including fluids and painkillers. I have also been constipated for about two weeks, and the pain in my stomach is just agonising.

Visited A&E two days ago, was given an enema and an anti-sickness injection. Neither had helped. Last night, the abdominal pain became a lot worse. From a strong dull ache to very sharp stabbing pain. An ambulance was rang for me and I was taken to hospital.

I was given anti-sickness and painkillers via IV and a litre bag of fluid which I was grateful for, but I still vomited after it and the pain was not controlled.

Left for another hour, the doctor came back and said that I need not to worry about the constipation, the vomiting and pain will 'eventually stop' and that he is happy for me to go home.

I tried to explain that nothing was helping and I am scared to go home as I can' just about walk. He basically ignored me, told me to get some buscopan from the shop and 'come back if anything gets worse'. I only came back because it got worse!

So I'm curled up in bed, sobbing. Waiting for a telephone appointment with my GP. I have no idea what is going to happen but I need help!

Anyone had a similar experience? Any advice is also very appreciated. Thank you all and God bless xoxo

I am so sorry you are experiencing this with little to no help from doctors. Have they given you an ultrasound or MRI? It sounds like a bowel obstruction to me. These can be very dangerous if not treated. Go to a different emergency room and demand help. I too have been in the hospital with more pain than I could tolerate only to be sent home. My heart goes out to you. Be persistant and do not accept anything less than a scan and help for your constipation. As I'm typing, I'm also thinking it could even be a tubal pregnancy. Also very dangerous if not treated. I would love to follow up with you. Please let me know how you are doing and if you received any relief or help. Xoxox
