elevated bloods

hi

I’ve had near perfect liver test results for the past 12-13 years

My last test recorded a significant jump in my readings and it was three days before I was contacted by my dr to say wait a month and Wewill redo.

I’d had covid and taken antivirals.

I did new ones two days ago and normally I see them on my health results on line same day

Again no results posted so I suspect they are being reviewed by dr and that they are still up . I haven’t seen the doctor yet but I worry that this is the beginning of the end ..I mean can they stay elevated - with no real effects - maybe urso is not working for me anymore

Worried.

Hi there I’ve only been diagnosed for three years but my results had returned to normal on urso. Then I had covid and also ran a half marathon when I had only just recovered from covid - I had a blood test two weeks later and my Alk phos had shot up. Repeated two weeks later and it was back to normal. So fingers crossed you’re will do the same. I can’t be sure if it was covid, over exerting or both that caused my Alk phos to go up.

That’s great news! I’m going to try not to panic next time! It’s interesting that a virus can affect our liver results on a temporary basis x

Sorry to read of your concerns boneytoys . I have seen other posts but have no experience that blood test results can be elevated following periods of being unwell for one reason or another and you were right to have the blood tests redone.

If it is the case that URSO has stopped working for you then we are fortunate these days to have alternatives in Bezafibrate and Obetacolic acid.

Is it possible to telephone your doctor rather than wait for them to contact you if the blood test results have not shown up since writing your post.

Do let us know how you get on.

best wishes
