Bezafibrate

Anyone taking bezafibrate to lower your enzyme numbers have side effects like very painful leg and feeling really low. Just started this drug three weeks ago .

On Bezafibrate for months now no side effects and lowered my enzymes for first time in 15 years. Good luck Flora hope you find out thr cause for those symptoms and will feel better soon!

Bezafibtrate (plus URSO) is what at last got my liver values back to normal. No side-effects.

I'm also on Bezafibrate and URSO . A bit too soon to tell if it's making a lot of difference, but should know when I next see my consultant . No adverse side affects that I know of.

Hi Flora, i have been taken Bezafibrate now for over a year it's very hard to say if the Bezafibrate contributed to the state of my symptoms as i was already in a lot of pain at the time of taken them . Over the severely months of being on the Bezafibrate my symptoms got so severe that My GP doctor put me on Gabapentin and i am happy to say that it has worked wonders with the pain . I used to get stuck in my bed and could not get up as the pain was so bad it felt like an elephant was sitting on my shoulders and i was locked in that position so hubby had to move me very slowly . I have suffered with the dreaded it which now has gone with the help of Rifampicin ( thank goodness ) sore muscles and all joints from shoulders to ankles , Fatigue , hot hands and feet , dry eyes and mouth, back spasms , migraines , sleepiness (so tired) depression . When my hematologist put me on Bezafibrate he told me that it was to help with the conditions of PBC . Whilst taken the tablets i have found that my hot hands and feet have gone my migraines have eased and don't get a lot of headaches anymore ( was just about everyday i always had a mild headache that lead to a migraine. My mood has been a lot better .

Just had my bilirubin levels results and the Bezafibrate as taken them down from 600 to 300 over 1 year .

Don't get me wrong i still do have pain but a level that i can cope with . I would say that 80 - 85% of the pain has been taken away . I do get sore legs but i don't know if its the Bezafibrate it's like a tightness pain that aches , but it's not there all the time .

Bezafibrat sometimes makes muscle-distroyment. Get your labs checked for that. (CK, Creatininkinase and others)
