That's interesting. I developed this symptom after I started treatment. It is not extreme but it still happens in a darkened room right after lights out. It was never explained but my guess is some mild optic neuropathy as it did not exist prior to treatment.

I had an eye check at an optician and nothing concerning was found.

best to get your eyes checked by an optician.

Not exactly the same but last year I developed flashing lights on the edge of my vision when in dark rooms. I was seen at eye casualty and told that it is a sign of aging and it's when the "jelly" in the eye becomes more liquid. Theres a chance that the retina can become detached so it's important to go straight to hospital if you get severe symptoms such as huge numbers of "floaters". They said after a few weeks the brain gets used to the flashes and I wouldn't notice them any more and that's what happened.

Hi R, I had similar symptoms last June. Optician said she had experienced same symptoms. Her explanation was that it was probably some particulates ( floaters?) in eye settling on some nerves which then triggered the flashing. She said it was very rare and nothing to worry about.

Best wishes
