buzzing in foot

Hi all, I’m new to the this post, but I have not been diagnosed by a doctor yet. I have my vitamin B 12 check six months ago and it was fine a few weeks ago I started to have the buzzing in my foot, it felt like I had a cell phone buzzing in the bottom of my foot, and it would start at night when I was in bed and then, we continue all day, machine for about 3 to 4 seconds, and then stopping. I’ve been started getting some neuropathy issues on my feet, felt like pins and needles at times but all of this would not last all the time. And I took 100 mg of gabapentin when the buzzing started and it stopped the buzzing. I’ve been started taking vitamin B 12 vitamins in the morning, and after two episodes of the gabapentin and daily B12 I no longer have the issues. I also have Hashimoto’s disease.

I have an appointment to see my GP in January and will get a full panel of annual test done.

Until then I hope I do not get anything again, but I do think the gabapentin really made the difference. Has anyone use that for the buzzing on your feet or for neuropathy?

hi, I take gabapentin for neuropathy. Been taking it for about 7 years and it really does help to ease the pain, especially in my feet.

I’d say definitely stick with it. They can increase the dose quite considerably if you need it.

Can you remember if you had side effects from gaba in the beginning? Just started that this week.

I can’t remember but I started on a low dose and had it increased over a few weeks. I did try to reduce it one time but the pains soon let me know that was a mistake. I currently take 500mg three times a day.

Thanks! I've started on 100mg at night but have been really anxious about potential side effects. Too many overwhelming neuro and other symptoms already 😢

No side effects at all. I took it for about a week and and started on b12 after that and so far the buzzing has stopped

I'm on gabapentin, tramadol and baclofen but they don't really take care of the pain. I'm also taking D3 and B12 but they don't do anything either but you should talk to a neurologist and see about getting an EMG done
