Hi all just thought I’d share some info for the people like me who are scared of self injection.
I’ve just been to the chemist you can buy this cream otc no prescription needed,you just apply two hours before your going to inject and it numbs the area to make it pain free.
I’ve got my last surgery loading injection tomorrow then it’s three monthly but I know that’s not enough for me as I feel the symtoms again after 2 days,my last injection I had was Friday past and already today I’m feeling light headed again and my feet are on fire.
I will mention it again tomorrow but I doubt it’ll make any difference so I’m stocked up with everything I need now to self inject,to be honest I didn’t even think I’d get the b12 injections because of lockdown but new practice has been great so far.

Sorry to hear your not so good as soon as you get what you need start injecting don’t wait for anything.
You know when people say I jabbed my self with needle accidentally and it hurt? Which we all know.
This just doesent hurt in any way,your using one needle to extract from ampoules ,same as nurse does,but the difference is your then using a second smaller needle which hasn't been blunted from ampoules,which the nurse doesent do so it literally slides into the arm.
I did my second self injection today and yes I was shaky again mainly because it was my good arm I was injecting with my not so good left hand lol.im feeling the benefits within an hour of injecting ,my breathing improves right away.the nausea goes and of course that dreaded dizziness that makes us wobble as you say.
Yes got them all. I used to have them every 10 weeks when I was Caring for my husband as I got so weary and weak. Then when I lost him, the doctor said The Government said only every three months Twice I had to go three months, but felt unwell. I always feel rough a couple of weeks before it is due. Now is 10 weeks so feel I need it. But another two weeks according to doc. (well, actually like so many of us, our surgeries have cancelled them all. I have had them for 40 years (used to have them daily) I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia along with Ulcerative Colitis. I think I might do it now rather than wait. I live alone now, so if I fell there would be no one here. Everything is just such a worry for all of us, then on top of that, it is the Covid 19

I had a brain injury from a fall four years ago and I was on my own in a countryside cottage no one around and had to drive to get medical help,I know now I shouldn’t have but I guess I panicked at that time and did what I thought was right.
I’d been suffering dizzy spells and was what I thought was just clumsy but I know better now my b12 has been falling year after year on checking blood test results and the maddening thing is looking at my files online it says abnormal patient aware no further action,” bar stewards” I knew nothing about any abnormal results.,lesson learned there don’t trust anyone get print outs.
Dont risk a fall for anyone it turns your life upside down I was in physio a long time and even yet I’m dealing with the consequences of the injury,four years later.
Please try doing your shot yourself it’s not going to kill you honestly I’m the biggest coward walking but you can do it you just need some support and encouragement you must feel very alone right now but your not there’s always a pair of ears on this forum.be brave and tell me you’ve done it go on lol xx
Hello I am so sorry to hear of your injury, that must be awful, and living in the countryside too. It is indeed at times like that that we need our loving husbands beside us. That is awful to read what you did on your files. It sounds really horrible. Why would anyone put 'abnormal patient?' that is so thoughtless and must have made you feel quite angry. I begin to wonder if there are people out there - medical people who do not care or even begin to understand what it is like to have such illnesses. What a shame for you. I am glad that you have your husband. I do miss mine so much, but would not wish him back now because the last three months he was in a nursing home and if he were here I could not visit and he would have suffered badly and I could not stand that. He was 20 years older than me, and in the Navy in WW2. When his ship sank in the Atlantic ocean July 1942 I was not born until the August, and then we met all those years later. He served on Arctic Convoys too. Guarding the Merchants ships taking vital supplies to Russia. I am so proud of him. Bless him, and we had 53 married years together, which I never expected. I keep talking to him (I know he cannot answer me, but it does help!). I am definitely going to self inject. Have a few more tries on an orange, and then just go ahead and do it. Take care of yourself and I hope that things get better for you. At least we know that on this Forum there are so many people who are needing help and knowing we are not along does help. Oh gosh. Had to smile a bit there. But you never know what they put these days. That is better though than putting 'patient abnormal' . It is good to talk to our loved ones even though they are not here. I cared for my husband for about 9 years with Carers three times a day. It was damage from the war being in the Atlantic for 15 hours. But the worse thing was the war nightmares that started coming. Sometimes I was up three or four times a night and sometimes he did not know me. He had to go into Care the last three months as I could not manage even with Carers 4 times a day. I hated having to do that, but he had kept saying "You have to let me go" for over a year before I could do it. But we had a wonderful life together and that is what counts. Keep talking to your mum and big sister and hug your husband and we will keep going. I am going to do the injection on Monday. I think the orange will be pleased! Take care.
Can I just tell you re cvud19 I was reading an interesting report last night.
The U.A.E tried stem cell therapy on 79 patients infected with Covid19 they used the stem cells from the blood taken and created a fine mist with it which the patients inhaled and it created new cells in their lungs and all 79 patients recovered from Covid19.
We are not hearing about this because there’s no big profits for pharmaceutical companies as compared to a vaccine so no surprise there eh.
Don’t give up hope there’s going to be something very soon and meantime keep your immune system healthy as you can.stay safe xx
