Hi, after getting aB12 result of 145 (180-914) back in April I finally got my loading doses, the fifth and final one of which was on Friday last week. My face has now broken out with acne on my forehead and around my cheeks. Is this normal? Any idea on how to clear it? I’m worried that when I get my next shot in a few weeks (my endo who is treating me for Hashimotos has requested monthly b12) that it’s going to get worse. What do I do? Thanks

Facial Acne after B12 Loading Doses - Help!
Hi bubblesmcgee a wiser person than I has posted this previously
"The pimples/acne, is likely to be caused by microbes on your skin reacting to the additional B12 by producing substances that your skin is then reacting to. In theory this could be resolved by use of a good skin wash. You might have better luck talking to your pharmacist and seeing what they can recommend prior to your next maintenance shot - though there is always a chance that it was something that won't recur".
Has your Folate level been checked?
I am not a medically trained person but I've had Pernicious Anaemia (a form of B12 deficiency) for more than 46 years.
I wish you well.
After having loading I got loads on forehead, chest , back and even in my ears . After about three weeks they all went on their own and haven’t had any since . I like to think of my badness coming to the surface so that after months of feeling rubbish I was showing people at last how rubbish I’d been feeling but I was on the mend !
