Getting B12 tested on B12 Injection course?

Hello,

I am due to get my b12 tested on the 26th of August, But I will have been on a b12 injection course of 2 injections a week for 3 weeks. Silly question, but is it worth stopping the course until after the blood draw?

If you have had any b12 be that injections, tablets or any other means there is no real point in doing a b12 blood test as it will give you an elevated score which i assume you are hoping not to have if you want to prove you are deficient.

Lisahelen , yes indeed. The test is just one of many being done for a late referral to an endo for thyroid issues. The b12 course was prescribed by my naturopath doctor before the NHS referral. Not sure how to turn of underline sorry!

No, there's no point in stopping. Levels will be high anyway. Was B12 tested before injections?

Thanks, Yes, My b12 before injections was around 310 ref 200-900 so above ref but in the low range.

And you keep getting injections from the naturopath? Then I guess it won't be a problem. Just tell your GP you've been supplementing B12 so he doesn't think something is going on when he sees the really high B12.

no I was just given a dose of 12 - so basically 2 a week for 6 weeks.

Maybe go back and ask for more if it did?

Still in the middle of the course, so far I haven't noticed much of a difference. But that may be down to everything else that is going on as well.

Think you turn the underlining off by using the following key combination if you are on a pc/laptop/tablet - ctrl+B

Yes, sometimes it can be really slow to respond properly - find that particularly when trying to mention someone in a post

In that case you will have to make sure that who has called for the test is fully aware that your level will more than likely be high and probably over the reference range which they are so frustratingly fond of adhereing to because you have had intensive loading by someone else.

Ps. At the top of where you type is where the button to underline is, you have probaly caught it by mistake, just reclick and it should be ok.
