Hope you will get loads of support. I feel at a loss with my Kranky Panky. Sadly I don't have any treatment as I'm intolerant to the enzymes . So annoyed about that but on a positive note my rheumatoid arthritis is in remission. Small blessings. Good luck

Hello Sea 1957. Sorry to hear for your problems. I live with CP and EPI almost 13 years. You ve mention pain and nausea. Cannabis gives me relief of them all this time. You don't have to smoke it. You can vaporize, ingest or put cannabis oil under tongue. Search informations on net and speak with your doctor about that. Hope it will help some...

Hi Jesus5

Not glad you have CP yet happy to see you have been living with CP for almost 13 years. I kept reading on the internet survival rates are much lower. Of course I have been stressing over this. Do you have any advice as to how to extend life expectancy?

Dear Sea 1957. No, there is no recipe how to extend life with CP. I know some people who live with CP more than 25 years. Some of them still smoking. So, it is very individualy and depend of so many different factors. Sorry to hear about breast cancer. I am on Essiac tea for years. I think you have to try it. It is no mumbo jumbo fake medicine. Search informations about it on net. Maybe it will help. Of course, there is no guaranties... Try to find informations about Rick Simpson oil. You have very good video about medical cannabis and CP on Mission cure. Medical cannabis don't works for every one, but worth to try. Smoking anything is bad, of course, but i don't think that even smoking 1 or 2 joints a day / only when it hurts or you are in nausea / is so bad. It is not chain smoking and it is not tobacco. But of course, you don't have to smoke it, you can vape it, make edibles or put RSO under tongue. There are evidence that medical cannabis is high anticancerouse. I take Moringa powder and turmeric powder every day too. I think that Essiac tea can prolonge life span. I hope this will help some, but remember, we all are different and there are no guaranties. I wish you all the best.

I'm sorry you've added another illness to your list but be aware that it is generally accepted that you will die with CP (from other causes) not from it!

It is my understanding that smoking, and especially drinking, is much more likely to have caused your CP than the laxative drugs, as they work on a different part of your digestive tract, so now you have given these up - very well done: all credit to you! - you could be in a position of gradual improvement, rather than decline.

CP itself isn't too bad if you can use PERT to help you with digestion. Make sure you have a good diet and take a broad spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement if you can.

Lots of vitamin deficiencies cause anxiety so it's really important that you get all the nutrients you need. You can watch the video from Skye, posted today, to find out.

If you can balance your nutritional needs, the only issue that can be an ongoing problem is getting semi-acute pancreatitis flares. Because you don't smoke or drink, you might not get these, or not too badly. 🤞

Wishing you all the best!

I have also lived 13 years with chronic pancreatitis. There is a lot of old, incorrect information on the internet. Mission: Cure has a lot of helpful webinars about living with chronic pancreatitis. Over the years I have noticed different things work for different patients. It's a trial-and-error situation. I have found keeping a food and symptom journal has helped me figure out some of the triggers for pain and/or nausea. Some triggers were unexpected, for example broccoli - when I eat broccoli, I have more pain. Overtime I noticed if I sleep better, I have less pain. I tire easily, so I limit my activities. It's a bunch of small adjustments that add up to relief. Mission: Cure webinars have different suggestions. Try what you think will work for you. My philosophy is any kind of improvement counts no matter how small. Last, do you have a doctor or group of doctors that understand chronic pancreatitis and take your concerns seriously? The doctors try to manage symptoms, but if your doctors ignore your concerns/symptoms you may need to find a specialist.
