After having a fall back in 2019 my right side back pain knee pain.and now a possible rotator.cuff injury. I saw my local pain clinic yesterday who were excellent and told.me they will help me with.my pain though not medically with medicine. Theyve offered physio for next week. Which is great hiwever the psychologist said he would look through my notes and see if there were any psychological thereapies that could help. Cbt has been ruled out as too structured.for.me and my previous history. What other thingsil is he referring to? Any help appreciated he did say i may have to learn to manage the pain which im wondering how i will do.

Wonder if they thinking mindfulness could help with pain? Is basically a type of meditation where you concentrate on here and now.....I tried it but for me wasn’t helpful. Other people rave about it.

Hi Hidenseek, I am glad the Pain Clinic were excellent. Mindfulness can be really helpful, but there are many different approaches and some people find it helpful some don't.

For me Meditation is a helpful tool in coping with chronic pain and health issues. I would recommend the Breathworks Living Well with Pain and Illness course. I learnt at my own pace, and am able to adapt the length of my meditations and my posture into something that makes it possible.

NHS mindfulness can be hit or miss, but good to see what's on offer.

The thing I like about Breathworks is that the founder lives with Chronic pain and is in a wheelchair, so really understands what we have to live with every day.

I hope you find the support you need.
