If I were you, I would ring your oncologists secretary, just to check if you need to be seen by anyone. If you have had an op already there may be scar tissue there ........ Mine is always numb around my scar. If you need further advice, look on the Ovacome home page, wherebtherebare lots of facts, info and details of a support line email and number.

All the best

Love Wendy xx

I am sorry apart from the fact that you are in pain.... It must be a real worry for you, perhaps if you give your GP a ring she might give you some pain killers.

Best wishes for Thursday love x G x

I shall be ok. It's just another concern I've no reason to be numb and I'm just noticing everything to be honest didnt feel that hospital nurse appreciated my concern. Think when I return home I may call gp or oncology department ( I'm in Wales at present ) x

Dear DiamondHearts

I had terrible pain before my op. It was the tumours pressing against other organs - particularly in the six hours before going to the loo as matter was passing through the alimentary canal. It might be your pain is something like that pressing on an organ.

I went to my GP who prescribed me ever stronger painkillers until the pain could be managed. He said the medication was not to be taken lightly as it is addictive but I just needed to get me through the few weeks until I could have surgery and then no more pain so I could throw the drugs away.

Can you see your GP? It seems to me they're likely to be better at judging the situation. First line A&E tends to be staffed by F1 doctors who are inexperienced and you could be there hours even if they do call an oncologist to your case.

You could see a local GP in Wales and they may be able to give you something for the pain. Are you meant to be on holiday? It must be awful to be away from home and in pain. I do hope you can get it sorted out very soon.

Thanks Annie. I don't really want any pain killers as I'm trying to stay at work and drive etcetera. That makes sense what you said and fits in with what happened. It's just the numbness that is causing me the greatest concern. I am back home now and if I have any major problems. I can always visit GP or women's hospital xxx
