Hi Sandra

My understanding is that yes a large cyst , or any size, can cause a lot of pain. It can press on other organs and or nerves and can be very uncomfortable. I also felt extremely tired before my aliens were chopped out. If it gets really bad you obviously have the option of going to A and E or calling the out of house service.

Take care

Yes Sandra, I had some terrible bouts of pain with my cyst. I don't remember sleeping all that much but I did tire easily. Are you peeing normally? I had a bit of retention too and had to get that sorted.

Hope this helps.

Hi Linda

I seem to be going to the loo an aufull amount but the pain I get. Is in my right hip the cyst is on my left ovary wouldn't it be my left side if it was my cyst ? I don't know how this works I get pains in both legs I can't stand some days I feel realy sick and I can't go for a bowel movement without struggling and having to sit in a strange position this has been going on for over a year and my GP has put it down to arthritis but some how I don't think it is that at all that's how they found the cyst by looking at my kidneys for stones but they are all clear . Any advise and help would be greatly appreciated many thank sandra xx

Hi Sandra,

I had a cyst as big as a full term baby 8lb.8oz and my symptoms

were identical to yours. The bowel problem was the same as

the cyst was pressing on my bowel and I had to wear incontinence

pads as I was constantly weeing - especially if I walked down any hills

and there are many hills were I live. My hips ached and my legs and

I had lots of pains in my groin and lower stomach.

Hope this is some help to you. I found taking ibuprofen through the

day helped with the aches and pains.

Love Angie

Did the groin and leg pain go away once the cyst was removed?

Hi Sandra

The answer to your question is Yes my pains went after

the op.

Hope this answers your problem if not please email again.

The truth is I don't know Sandra. They'll probably have to figure it out by a process of elimination. Has your surgery been scheduled yet? It seems to me the first priority is to get that cyst away and whatever else they need to do and then see how you recover. Keep pestering your doctor.

Hi Sandra

The body is a funny thing and often hips and backs are painful due to referred pain and due to the vagaries of our nervous system the side and site of the pain doesn't always correlate with the side and site of the cyst or whatever part is complaining. Plus when you are in pain it effects the way you hold yourself and move around which in turn makes areas hurt as they try and compensate. Any inflammation in the abdomen has an impact on bladder and bowel function, more so if organs are pressing on each other.

Hopefully you will get this sorted out soon and will not have to wait much longer.

Big. Hugs Amanda xxxxx
