Hi Margaret... Well done best wishes x G x :-) :-)

Well done Margaret. Hope you had a good time doing the yard sale. Have you freed up some space so that you can go shopping again?!

Dear Margaret, well done you! What a lovely idea. I think of Lizzie and Jan a lot - particularly watching the Olympic Torch arrive in London. It was one of the last things she posted about and it gave her a lot of happiness to go down to the end of her lane to see the torch go by.

My colleagues arranged a cake sale during Jubilee week and raised just over £130. I was really touched when they asked me to pay the proceeds into Ovacome. Mine is only a little amount but it's something.

You did better than I did! I gave the other half to Target Ovarian Cancer. Our local hospice got the unsold goods and I am throwing a wine, cheese & pate party on Sept 28th instead of the 'Big Coffee Morning' for Macmillan.

This was my 3rd declutter! I did it on divorce, again three years later when I moved; this time it was to get rid of stuff I no longer use and my kids won't want to save them time and trouble at the end when it comes!

Well done Margaret,

every penny helps with fundraising doesn't it and the things you have donated will raise even more money.

I should de clutter but it isn't me that is a hoarder. My husband keeps all sorts of rubbish just in case you need it and takes great pride in saying told you so when something does get used!!!!

What a smashing idea, Margaret. Congratulations on doing so well. It's such a good way to de-clutter.

My husband and I tried to move to a bungalow from our family home of 42 years the year before last but the lady from whom we were buying a bungalow pulled out four days before the moving day. We'd given loads of stuff to our local hospice shop.

Then we tried again last year but it all fell through again at the last minute. That attempted move I parted with more stuff - the sentimental things. It made it so much easier to give them to such a good cause, especially as our hospice has had to close it's Day Centre due to lack of funds. It must also save our children a LOT of work as we were both hoarders! We've now decided to stay put which has been quite hard, especially as my husaband's had a nasty foot op. meaning he must put no weight at all on the bad foot for some months. We could do without stairs.... (We don't need a stair lift, luckily. He's managing to go up on his bottom - quite a funny site!!)

Love, Solange
