Hi Violets

The itchy and tender skin is distressing and I have problems too; chiefly on my forearms and lower leg.

I find that E45 helps. It is a very gentle moisturiser and seems to soothe my skin afterwards.

I hope that it helps ease your symptoms a little and wish you well. Take care.

I had this problem after my first chemo but the itching was also on my abdomen, insides of thighs, all up my arms and hands and the itching drove me to despair. I went to see the gp (locum duty doctor) who gave me Hydrocortisone cream which took ages to work.

After my first chemo and at my next review appointment, I mentioned all the problems I had had (nearly every one on the sheet apart from sickness) and my consultant reduced the next dose of Taxol very slightly. This made all the difference to my symptoms after the second course of chemo and so far (touch wood) I haven't experienced the itching this time.

Perhaps it is worth talking to your doctors, to maybe reduce your next dose.

Thanks for responding to me. I will speak with MD on wed about reducing next dose of Taxateer.

You can purchase E45 moisturiser from any Boots and some supermarkets also stock it.

Good luck!
